Okay, I have discovered a lot of things about myself as I have become a wife and mother. I like watching dumb shows such as Gilmore girls, The Bachelor, and other shows that are silly and pretty much require no thinking involved on my part. I love pretty clothes, and nice accessories, (I even learned how to tie a scarf this year...yeah! I am, after all, 28!). I hate the Nintendo, and anything else my kids like to fight with me over. But I have changed in a lot of other ways as well. I was not a neat person when I was younger...I was clean, but not neat. Now, that has all changed. I crave a clean/neat house. I hate dust, floors you can feel anything on, glass that smudges, toilets which always have growlers stuck on the sides, clothes in dressers which are constantly thrown in, floorboards with dirt, my list could go on and on! I love to be a mom, but this is a constant battle for me! If my house is clean, I am so happy and relaxed. If it's dirty and messy, I am a grouch! I get so upset and I have come to a conclusion...it's because it all falls on me! Oh, don't get me wrong, my kids have chores and things they have to do. (i.e. our six year old knows how to mop on his hands and knees). But let's be honest; it's a pain to get them to do anything and once it's done it needs to be redone! So, all this stress falls on Mom. I need back-up...also known as my husband. Now I don't know how all husbands are, mine is wonderful and sweet, and he's a fairly clean person. But he doesn't ever help with the housework. Even when I ask, plead, put family time aside to do it, he still doesn't. WHY IS THAT? I help him outside, I get oil changed in our vehicles, I clean the garage with him...how did I mess up when we were first married so that he never feels obligated to vacuum or clean a toilet???? Ahhh! Tomorrow is Saturday, he is out of town, and I have to clean, by myself...can you tell I'm cranky about it?
HA! I am the same way!!! Sometimes I wish I wasn't so clean but I am! I wish I could just leave it and go and have fun but i can't. If I am in a huge hurry and there is a dish in the sink thats all I think about the whole time. It is crazy. It always seems like when my house is clean and tidy no one comes over. As soon as I put laundry on the couch to fold or my kids just took all there toys out..guess what someone comes knocking on my door! AHHHH! Hang in there...I think you should BEAT (totally kind of joking) your husband until he finally comes to realization you are not a maid! You would probably be a lot happier and could make more time for him if he helps out!
